JPSFiction is the outreach of author, poet, publisher and academic Dr John Synott, from Brisbane, Australia.
JPSFiction is a creative enterprise to publish writings by myself and others, for readers who care about the future of the natural world that is our earthly source and home. It is also a space for culturally-diverse and aware writers to share our interests and ideas on issues of sustainability.
Notes on the Author and Publisher
John Synott took up writing fiction in 2010 after an academic career in universities in Australia and other nations.
During that period he was a teacher, researcher, and scholar with leadership roles in international organizations, including the International Peace Research Association and the Asia-Pacific Peace Research Association. He held academic appointments in Australian universities in Brisbane, Armidale, and Sydney, as well as Port Moresby (PNG), Busan, (South Korea), Castellon (Spain) and taught an online course in Intercultural Education for the University of Peace, Costa Rica. He has been visiting professor in Gyongju National University (South Korea) Queen’s University Belfast (Northern Ireland), and State University of Ohio (USA). He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Professional Editors Ltd.
He is the author of six non-fiction books, many chapters and journal articles. He was inaugural editor of the Journal of Peace Education and on the editorial and production team of Social Alternatives, including poetry editor for two decades. He has published poetry in journals and newspapers and In Order of the Seasons: Selected Poems, in 2011.
The Fake Prince is his debut novel, with The Coiled Ring scheduled for publication in 2020.
